Speaking as a huge fan of Sunn O))) and of Boris, I was excited to hear that they would be collaborating on an album. Two of my favorite current bands were working on what could be the release of the year. And then I finally listened to it.
To say this album is no good is a total falsehood; it's a great album, certainly, but not what I was expecting. It takes some time to grow on you. The first couple of tracks are intense in that they build tension for what comes next. Once you get to 'The Sinking Belle (Blue Sheep)', there are actual vocals.

Six Storeys High by Six Storeys High

Six Storeys High have probably never been compared to Jonas Brothers before, but like the pin-ups of American Pop who spawned a million Camp Rock dolls, the single taken off their respective UK debuts ("Emergency Call" vs. "SOS") makes a Mayday reference. On the evidence of this self-titled EP it is hard to imagine Six Storeys High getting into troubled waters.
Opening track "Emergency Call" crashes in, grabs the listener by the scruff of the throat and refuses to let go.
